Famous for the great outdoors

Staunton is most famous for its forest trails, and you’ll find abundant footpaths from the house. This includes the Wysis Way, an 88km route, and in the other direction, local loops around Stowfield Quarry. With bikes, it’s easy to access Symonds Yat and the rest of the Forest of Dean, including the popular Pedalabikeaway MTB centre at Cannop.

The Wye Valley AONB is an outdoor-lovers’ dream, popular not just with bikers but climbers, walkers and canoeists, too. Meanwhile, the Brecon Beacons and Bike Park Wales are less than 45-minutes away.

Whatever your chosen activity, you’ll find plenty of recommendations in the guest book.
